#5 (10th gr) Saints

Holy Heroes

Spiderman, Wolverine, Thor, and Storm are heroes on screen and in comic books, but we all know they are not real.

There, there, I realize this may be a shock to some of you but here's some kleenex and let's move on.

We may have these superheroes to look up to in our escapes from reality but they can't give us realistic examples of how to live our lives.  Unlike Wolverine we do not have Adamantium coursing through our veins, nor will we ever.

We do, however, have some actual real life examples of what a true hero can be.  Holy Heroes are saints.... and they're very, very real.

What is a saint?
It's important to remember the Church doesn't "make" saints, the Church declares a person a saint.  The actions we do while on earth are what makes us a saint.  So, start practicing for your sainthood now!

What are some things saints did on earth that you can take away as inspiration for your lives?  Watch these four video clips about these four people that were practicing for sainthood while on earth.

Universal Call to Holiness - BE A SAINT

Read YouCat 497 again, if we are called to holiness, where better to look than those that have succeeded and already saints in heaven?  Think about the saints you just learned about and maybe a saint whom you are already familiar.

Question 4:  Name a saint with whom you identify and share why you identify with that saint.
